Abstract/Summary
This thesis involves the design and implementation of an algorithm that will monitor parking slots in a multi-level carpark. The monitoring system provides drivers and system operators the information about the status of the parking slots within a particular carpark. The algorithm is implemented as such by monitoring every slot of each level of the multi-level carpark. Then the system would determine if a particular parking slot is vacant or not. This information would be provided to the system operator so that they would be able to confirm if a particular slot is vacant or not. A panel layout of each level of the multi-level carpark is installed at the main entrance of the multi-level carpark. This panel board would inform the drivers of the vacant slots at each level and thus would give them the privilege to choose on what available and convenient parking slot they would like to occupy.
