Abstract/Summary

Executive Summary. Market Study. Our feasibility is all about the introduction of a garbage incinerator, that is suitable for household use. This product is designed to burn both wet and dry garbage and other burnable household trash and allow households to extract ashes as the only remains of their burned trash. We have also made possible the detachability of some of the parts of the incinerator and its portability. It is very easy to use and very easy to clean. To facilitate our study, we have chosen the middle class households of Metro Manila as our target market. We feel they are most appropriate as our target because they are the ones who experience and who are aware of the inefficient garbage disposal system at present.

Our incinerator has an initial selling price of P 500. We feel that our target market would find its cost very reasonable and very cheap in exchange for a brighter alternative to a more efficient way of disposing of garbage. Of course, in setting a selling price for our incinerators, we not only took into considerations the recovery of our investment and initial outlays, but also the result of a profit.

Our promotion strategy is based on how effective we and our salesforce are in marketing our product to the households. Through the door to door selling technique that we plan to use, we will be able to create an informal sale that will help us win the trust and confidence of our market. Together with this we also plan to put up some advertisements in some newspapers and some fliers containing information about the product and its features capped in a message that would catch people's attention and one that would drive straight to their conscience.

Technical Aspect. In the production of the garbage incinerators, we are to make use of materials that are available in any hardware store. Materials like the Galvanized Iron Sheets are to form part of the incinerator's body, associated cover and handlebars, while the reinforcement bars and flat bars are to be used in making the vertical grate, grid, and stand respectively. Since our materials are abundant we have no problem acquiring them.

Our factory is to be built in Laguna where there is a good enough space to put up a production center and where there are many hardware stores nearby to be get the materials. The factory will be housing an assembly line consisting first and foremost of the cutting and measuring department, followed by both the moulding department and the department making the vertical grate, after which we have the welding section, and lastly the finishing department where the units are checked to see if they are free of defects. There is also a good number of workers available for the kind of work which we need with the kind of requirements necessary for the job of producing incinerators, as it only entails a basic knowledge of manual labor.

To be able to produce our incinerator we need equipment's to aid us through the production process. We will be needing the common tools such as the hammer, saw, measuring tapes, sandpaper and the bigger devices such as a welding machine, bench vise, grinder, GI cutter, and a generator in case of brownouts so as not to disrupt our production process.

Socio-Economic Aspect. Coming up with the feasibility of a product means that there must be some good or benefit that would come out of patronizing that product for the group to be spending time making a feasibility on it. Likewise, our group knows that there are many benefits that can result out of the use of the garbage incinerator. It is through its use that people would stop throwing their garbage just anywhere and at the same time be taught on the proper management of their trash. It is also here that people are able to utilize the trash that they have and earn from it.

We believe the biggest and most important benefit that we could get out of the use of an incinerator is that sooner or later we could free ourselves of the piles of trash living in our sidewalks and those streaming all over the different dumpsites. Also we could make use of the land being occupied by the trash, to build buildings or factories that would provide employment for those who need it and those who want to make an honest living. How to achieve all this is up to us. It is possible if we just put our hearts and minds into it and making up our minds that we really want to live in a cleaner world and that we deserve to live in one. Developing the discipline and concern would enable us to achieve our goal of a cleaner society for everyone.

Management Study. There is to be a production center or a factory put up where we can produce our incinerators. Here we will be utilizing the resources of seven () laborers who will be producing maximum capacity of 16 units in a day. These workers will be working 6 days in a week for 300 days from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Two of the workers will be responsible for the measuring and cutting, two will be doing the moulding of the incinerator body and cover, another one will be making the vertical grate, one for the welding process and the last one will be performing the finishing touches on the units. At present there is availability of the labor needed and we will only be needing 7 laborers initially. The partners will also be utilizing our resources by serving as the supervisor and the others as the salesforce. In the future we will be hiring more in order to accommodate the growing demand.

Financial Aspect. Because we also consider the profit that we gain through this undertaking we, believe through the computations performed, that our project will prove to be very promising. Our company has the ability to meet short term obligations that would come our way and at the same time can easily convert our non cash current assets into cash when the need for it arises. Our project would be mainly financed by us so we won't have that much problem with debts.
