Abstract/Summary
Plant equipment maintenance is one of the most important activities necessary for any production or manufacturing plant to be efficient in its operations. Plant equipment maintenance does not only include cleaning and reconditioning of the machines but also the acquisition of equipment spare parts needed to replace the damaged or malfunctioning equipment parts. Equipment maintenance involves a lot of tedious processes. In case there is a machine breakdown, a stoppage is immediately created. This will then notify the maintenance supervisor to replace the damaged spare part. A replacement spare part will then be picked from the inventory. But before any spare part could be released from the inventory, a work order must first be filled out. The maintenance supervisor should always keep track of the inventory of its spare parts. In case the inventory is low, he should immediately purchase from the vendors in order to maintain the inventory. Unnecessary delays due to lack of spare parts in the warehouse is not desirable. Delays not only minimizes the total production but also accumulates to the total cost of the production process. The equipment maintenance software is designed to ease the operations within the plant. It aids in the manufacturing process by providing support to the maintenance of vital equipment's. This system provides support by ensuring an adequate supply of spare parts and manpower through the integration of both warehouse and personnel.
