Abstract/Summary
Throughout recent years, companies operating as part of the sharing economy have increased in popularity despite their business model being relatively new. This is due in no small part to the success of sharing economy companies such as Uber and Airbnb. However, despite the increase in popularity, there are only a limited amount of studies that seek to explain how these sharing economies managed to obtain the success and popularity they enjoy today. Thus, this paper sought to examine the different variables that factor into the success of sharing economy companies as well as its underlying service design framework through gathering both qualitative and quantitative data and analyzing the findings primarily through the usage of various models to obtain valuable insights and establish a proper framework in which to analyze the success of sharing economy companies by primarily making use of the SERVQUAL model.
