Abstract/Summary
LIROBENSON Food product is a single proprietorship business corporation that manufactures quality corn noodles or bijon since 1978. Like most of the Bijon manufacturers in the country, it still uses traditional sun dried method that makes its production hightly dependent on weather conditions. Since 1994, its bijon production system has been unable to meet customer demand. This amounted to an opportunity cost of 3,901,800 pesos in 1996. This happened mainly because of its inability to operate during rainy days, low production capacities, losses incurred in different processes and increased demand during holidays. To address this problem, the following solution were recommended: 1. Steamer with liquid tank. 2. In-Store Dryer. 3. Scheduling. 4. All metal Tray. These solutions are expected to result to meet the demand and gain for the system a net benefit of 1,783,100 pesos for the steamer with liquid tank, 991,800.00 pesos for the In-store Dryer, 10,523,500.00 pesos for the proposed scheduling all in terms of net present value.
