Abstract/Summary

Mega Paint Corporation was founded in 1988 and located in Quezon City, Philippines. The company produces various products of different types of paints.

The study focuses on the production department of Mega Paint Corporation, limited to the top 10 produced paint products per month from the period of January 2016 to December 2016. Methods of analysis include SWOT analysis, and problem prioritization WOT-SURG, where the problem determined, was not able to produce the actual demand by an average of 393.53 liters for all the top 10 products which results in Php13,534,252.44 in terms of lost profit.

To address the problem regarding the actual production not meeting the actual demand. A cause and effect diagram were used to categorize the causes in terms of man, machine, material and method. The root causes identified is mainly due to the process capacity of paint manufacturing. This is due to their actual capacity no being able to reach their theoretical process capacity.

Solutions were formulated through the Kepner Trego decision analysis, the musts and wants criteria were used. The final solutions determined were to add a storage for spare parts, and to change the color classification for the machines. The proposed system can gain a projected benefit of Php9,387,859.37.
