Abstract/Summary

Simscript/V is a visual interface for the Simscript 11.5 compiler. It combines the advantages of textual and graphical interfaces: less error-phone due to minimal use of keyboard for input, minimize language biased with the use of visual images or icons, and easier mental perception of the system being modeled since visual programming environments are multidimensional. The system is able to generate Simscript 11.5 codes from the visual program. The program code is readily compilable to a Simscript 11.5 compiler. Simscript/V uses multiple views to show the different parts of the program. The process view shows the system being modeled. The Control view shows the details of the simulation. The Interface view shows the screens that would interact with the user when the code is compiled and executed. The system also lets the user create simulation models faster by providing a library of CPU scheduling and memory placement algorithms for simple operating systems.
