Abstract/Summary
Kythe's operations highly depend on the services of the volunteers. This is the reason why the researchers developed a PR Plan focused on developing awareness of the organization among the potential volunteers with the end goal of attracting them to join the organization. The researchers conducted a qualitative analysis on interviews with current and potential volunteers and representative from the NGO. Thematic, Narrative, and Discourse Analyses were used to identity the key messages and right tools that will be used in executing the strategies of the public relations plan.
The researchers came up with Kythe Runners , A Flying Experience , Fly a Kite for Kythe and electronic and printed posters and brochures as their strategies. Kythe Runners is a quarterly recruitment program that will involve the current volunteers in getting potential volunteers to join the organization while A Flying Experience is an online compilation of stories and testimonials of the current volunteers. An event, Fly a Kite for Kythe , will make potential volunteers experience how it is like to deal with kids who have cancer. Posters and brochures will be used to inform of the cause of the organization and their need for volunteers.
