Abstract/Summary
The study presents a prototype Automated Battery Plate Stacker. The purpose of the Automated Battery Plate Stacker is to provide a means of arranging motorcycle battery plates and plate separators into ordered groupings so that they can be made ready for boxing. The bunching operation is located at the start of the production line. In this system the negative, positive and separator plates are preloaded into a feeder system. Once placed, the swiper blades dispense these plates into the conveyor bin. After one swiping motion, limit switches are triggered to stop it from turning. Until the photosensors emit a signal that a separator/or plate passes between them will these swiper blades dispense another set of plates. This process cycle will continue until the end of the stack. After the plates have been completely stacked, the motorcycle battery plates will be manually retrieved from the conveyor bin.
