Abstract/Summary
An electrocardiogram traces the heart's electrical behavior. The graph of which helps doctors diagnose various cardiac disorders. The development of the microprocessor-based electrocardiogram is a step towards this binding of computers with medicine. The establishment of this foundation is seen to benefit medical institutions in the country. The cost of the proposed system can compete with the available imported ones. The proposed project is a combination of the existing EKG monitor and recorder. One of its features is the capability of diagnosing for heart rate and axis. The patient graphs are internally organized and kept in secondary storage devices. It can be readily printed for hardcopy at the users' request.
