Abstract/Summary

Imagination Incorporated is an audio-video production house that offers services to the corporate, scholastic, and commercial or broadcast scenes. The study focuses on the Marketing Department of the company. Appropriate methods of data gathering were used by the group in coming up with the system analysis and the proposed design. Data gathering was done through ocular observation, interviews, and research. The study identified the weaknesses of the Marketing Department as well as the factors affecting the decision-making of the VP-Marketing. The paper shows in detail the redundant functions, especially in managing information, of the current Marketing system that affect the executive's decision-making. In line with this, the development of an Executive Information System (EIS) is proposed. An EIS is a computer-based system specifically designed to gather, process, and display information that help top executives assess a company's performance. The proposed system will focus mainly on the Marketing department, particularly on the decision-making style of the VP-Marketing. The system aims to support the Integrated Direct Marketing strategy of Imagination, Inc. and to assist the VP-Marketing in his decision-making by serving his information needs. Critical to the VP-Marketing are the following information: results of the promotional activities, availability of work force, personnel performance, percentage of completed projects, and the number of new clients. The proposed system will make full use of the available resources of the Marketing department. A recommended hardware configuration is also stated for future reference by the company.
