Management Information System (MIS) is a practical approach in developing an integrated, computer-based, interactive information system that would support operations and decision making functions which could put the business to the desired industry position by providing the business an advantage through the improvement of work efficiency. Information is important because it is where the company relies on in making daily business decisions. The volume of date to be processed increases as the company grows. Effective management of these data are vital to the organization because these are used to make reports which will be used by managers in decision making. Information systems are employed to rationalize business processes, increase productivity, increase effectiveness of managers and bring to a firm a competitive advantage in the market place. The methodology used to develop the information architecture is the Business Systems Planning (BSP) Methodology. It is a structured approach to assist a business in establishing an information system plan to satisfy its near and long-term information needs. It makes sure that the data necessary to support a firm's business requirements are available and that a relatively stable information system architecture has been developed to serve the firm for years to come. A-Z Sales and Distribution Corp., is a distribution company involved in newsstand distribution and getting of subscriptions. A MIS plan will be developed for the company to maximize the use of information. The plan is a way of aligning information system needs with the business plans of the company.
