Abstract/Summary

MIS-LGMC is a five year Management Information System plan developed for Laurenge Garments Manufacturing Company. The plan is based on IBM's Business Systems Planning (BSP) Guide which supports top-down planning and bottom-up implementation. It will assist LGMC management in establishing information systems that will aid the decision-making and planning functions by providing needed information in a timely and accurate manner. The BSP methodology helps define the information architecture of the company. The information architecture identifies all data classes, business processes and categorizes them into functional areas or systems. The information architecture aids in the recommending of steps to be taken in order to achieve the organization's mission, goals and objectives. The study present LGMC's operations, current systems and problems that the company is facing presently. The development of an Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) is recommended. The hardware and software acquisition system of the IMIS and the activities included in each phase were also identified.
