Abstract/Summary
This qualitative study focuses on the concept of sawa in a romantic relationship. The aim of this study is to find out how does an individual experience sawa towards dating and romantic partner, how does sawa initiate relationship dissolution or plateau relationship and if the qualities of an individual contributes to the feeling of sawa . There were 6 couples who were interviewed and described the feeling of sawa within their relationship. Specific themes were established from the data gathered that explains the concept of sawa . The researchers found out that sawa is a phase in a relationship that is experienced towards the activities that they together and in their unresolved conflicts. Sawa does not immediately initiate relationship dissolution but it may lead to a plateau relationship.
