Abstract/Summary

The study addresses problems that are continuously growing in modern times due to the massive exposure that video games receive. The problems of the study include finding similarities between each of the variables, namely duration, frequency, game characteristics, individual differences, and personal motivation, within stages of video game addiction. The study seeks to identify possible indicators on whether an individual is undergoing the stages of video game addiction or is susceptible in developing video game addiction. The study would focus on how these variables play part in the stages of video game addiction. Results may show a clearer diagnostic profile of an individual in each of the five stages of video game addiction. The participants who are 16 years old and above and are self-confessed video game addicts as they may provide more insights to what they are experiencing while gaming and why they believe that they are addicted. The data will be obtained from the population by interview.
