Abstract/Summary
As filmmaking can now be ubiquitous because of the advent of technology, films can come with different forms and unique perspectives it inevitably changes and improves its format, genre, and techniques. In this era, it seems that every story has been told, it is, indeed, a challenge for the proponents to create a film with such freshness, creativity, and irony. As a result, the genre of the film has been decided to create a short-feature horror film. Although genres have evolved, horror is still one of the hardest films to create, and has one of the few productions as compared to drama.
Filipino viewers, especially in the Philippines, watch horror for mere entertainment and/or to purge bad emotions (anger, jealousy), which is scholarly known as catharis. They are not initially after the story, they want to feel scared and uneasy. Undeniably, that is one of the purpose of horror as a genre: to scare. However, a horror film maker's purpose is not solely to scare, but also to give a message to its audience, or a timely comment to a relevant issue.
The story is a short-horror film about a 19-year old teenager who visits a house where her mother recently works, and steals a valuable necklace in the basement. It deals with how a young mind desires to possess precious materials, and will do everything to get it just to satisfy one's insatiable desires. The film is a timely comment about the repercussions of being excessively materialistic and how it overpowers one's vulnerability.
