Abstract/Summary

WanTuTri is a short film on digital video format about Kate Herrera, a sassy boutique owner finds herself entangled between her two great loves, Carlo Mansilla who is her ex-boyfriend in College and Ryan Regudon who is her fiancee. With the help of her gay best friend, Lance Morelos, she manages to keep her ellicit relationship a secret to both men. However, only time can tell on how long she could keep her relationships a secret.

This film tackles a perpetual issue that continues to stir up debate in present times. Women in films, more often than not are characterized as individuals who are very sacrificial and weak. However, WanTuTri, shows a woman of great strength and courage a heroine.

According to McIver (1994), a Heroine is an archetype that heals the heals the split, offering women who bring together upper and lower, light and dark, masculine and feminine to create union rather than opposition. For McIver, Heroines demonstrate equality rather than hierarchy, not dominating but complete and secure in themselves, they empower their fellow beings and help create and support the beloved community.
