Abstract/Summary
This is a study to estimate the thermal conductivity of agricultural waste products. These materials are milled and then bonded together with appropriate glue so that they are tested as slabs. The method of testing is by allowing heat to pass through the sample at a fixed rate. Temperatures at either side of the board are obtained from time to time until the system reaches equilibrium. The set up used for this purpose is the guarded hot plate wherein the sample is simply placed in between the heating guard and measuring area heaters and cooling units.
