Abstract/Summary

A growing concern alarms many people at present about the relatively high cost of dying. Aside from the concern on cost, people are also looking at more practical ways by which the remains of the dead can be disposed of, and more convenient means by which the dead can be honored and remembered. Cremation is a very good alternative which can answer these concerns. However, its popularity among Filipinos is somehow caught in a slow pace because of people's nature to turn to religious-traditional beliefs. This is compounded by the many misconceptions hounding the alternative. A. Marketing Aspect. The Dawn of Life Memorial Services will offer cremation and other funeral services which have received favorable responses from the respondents of the survey. The other funeral services to be offered would include the processing of the necessary cremation permits, the sale of urns and coffins, renting of coffins, embalming, and chapel rental for the wake. In effect, the company is a one-stop-shop for those who want to have their deceased be cremated. The prices set for such services have been derived taking into consideration the cost and incidental expenses, price preferences of the respondents, and the prevailing prices of the company's competitors. Advertising and promotion strategies would include the use of print ads geard at clarifying the misconceptions about cremation especially as regards the religious sectors' view on cremation. The print ads would also highlight

the advantages of cremation over burial. Leaflets would be used to supplement the print ads .B.
