Abstract/Summary

Hiraya sa mga bituin is a 20-minute drama short feature film that follows a pre-adolescent young girl who is raised to religiously follow her horoscopes until one discovery forces her to steer away from it in the hopes of finally making her own decisions.

The short film aims to explore how some people tend to become more dependent, whether it is driven by curiosity or not, they seek guidance wherever they could find it zodiac sign horoscope, for instance. Moreover, the film intends to show how ones fanaticism over horoscopes can directly affect the people around his life. Hiraya sa mga bituin aims to touch the human experience of self-discovery through the lens of an innocent little girl. Her vulnerability will symbolize peoples tendency to adapt to what they read about their respective zodiac signs. The main characters story will show that while other people find comfort and meaning form it, horoscopes are just not for everyone.
