Abstract/Summary

The group started out with a list of blue-collar professions that are quite common in the Philippine setting. Some of the jobs that were included were laundress, waiter, janitor, electrician, and construction worker. From the list mentioned, the pan de sal baker seemed to be more feasible and there is a lot of room for visual creativity. It can be envisioned like those cooking programs on lifestyle channels where they stir up moves of each ingredient. The baking scenes would have a dramatic emphasis on the baking procedures as well. Aside from that, there is a Filipino essence that is being imbibed in the feature. In every street, in every city, there would surely be a pan de sal store that would cater to the people living around the area. It is a food staple that a regular Filipino family would have, no matter what generations they belong to. It is typically paired with Filipino favorites, such as dirty ice cream and pancit. The researchers have experienced these situations and are actually fond of them.

The proponents hoped to end the film on a sad yet happy note, with the son accepting what has happened already and moving on with living his present life. The bittersweet finale would be better than the usual heavy emotions after watching a drama clip.

The issues to be tackled had to be related with family situations, either as usual problem or rare one. It had to be something painful that seemed impossible to recover from. Since films usually have someone dying in the end, the focus becomes centered on the grieving process of a child. This would be a reverse, meaning that it would present the story with a character already gone in the early part of the film. In this story, how a child copes with the loss is by bringing to conclusion the memory he has with his father.

Lucas is handling his emotions upon the discovery of the life-changing affair. The story will be focusing more on the grieving process and as to how Lucas would try and cope up to the situation he is in. Grieving process. Being determined, having a goal to attain.
