Abstract/Summary
Geographic Information Systems map out a particular area of land, which is represented in a graphical manner. This type of representation allows users of the system to get information out from a designated area to a specific parcel of land. This helps better inform the user on what form of land there is, which leads him to decide on what to do with it. Makati Commercial Estates Association Geographic Information System (MACEA-GIS) focuses more on specific area of land bounded by Salcedo Village, a small portion of what MACEA, Makati's homeowner/tenant's association, actually covers. The aim of this system is to aid its users in locating lots, building, companies, and other related data within Salcedo Village, and provide them with information on events and other activities that are present in the said village. This entails the presentation of two-dimensional full color maps, routes from a starting point to a specific destination, and data presented in tabular form. In addition to this, maintenance of the files and the maps are to be provided for, and all these are to be done by the use of Geographic Information Systems software, in this case, MicroStation95.
