Abstract/Summary

A Web Page for Mercure Hotel-Philippine Village Airport Manila formerly known as Philippine Village Hotel, Mercure Hotel-Philippine Village Airport Manila is now on the rise for as part of its total overhaul, a web page was painstakingly created by the proponents for the hotel's advertising. The web page was produced to serve as an invitation and information source for the INTERNET users, especially those from the business groups. This was made possible since the EDP Department showed interest in hooking up with the INTERNET. The proponents worked together with the hotel's management in coming up with designs and write-ups. They were also supervised by Mr. Israel Cansanay, EDP Supervisor of the hotel. In connection, the proponents primarily gathered basic information about the hotel such as its history, organizational chart, facilities and other services the hotel offers. The first three weeks of January was devoted to brainstorming and planning about the structural designs of the web page. The proponents started working with the web page by the first quarter of February. Written and other visual materials available in the hotel were used with the permission of the hotel's Resident manager. However, the proponents originally wrote a greater part of the web page's text. For additional visual effects, pictures of the hotel's facilities were taken and scanned. Aside from photos, a ten-second video clip of the hotel's entrance was produced late February. The video was digitized on the third week of March at the ECE laboratory. For updating and improvement of the web page, constant supervision of Mercure Hotel's management to the proponents was made possible. The web page was frequently presented and shown to the client for further comments and suggestions. The final revision of the web page was done as agreed upon by the thesis adviser and the proponents.
