Abstract/Summary

Bluetooth Operational Sports Wristwatch and Pedometer with Embedded Microcontroller System (BOSWPEMS) is a system that helps you monitor your physical activity during training. BOSWPEMS serves as an integration of several sports devices that monitors and measures data that are relevant and important.

It is composed of two different systems working together via Bluetooth technology to show the necessary data needed. First we have the pedometer, which collects the data and second we have the wristwatch, which displays the necessary results wanted by the user.

The thesis designed a device that is capable of gathering data to help joggers monitor their physical activity during training. There are sports products that measure specific types of data, like the steps taken, speed, calories burned, or heart rate. This thesis integrated all those features into one system to make it more convenient for the users. The data is gathered by a pedometer that is attached to the user's waist. Bluetooth technology will then be used to send the data from the pedometer to the wristwatch, and the results will be displayed on its LCD. Testing showed that the data gathered by the system comes close to the accuracy of the other products sold in the market.
