Abstract/Summary
The proposed project study is entitled An Integrated Microcontroller based Magnet Card Network System. The goal of this study is to provide a reliable and effective entry and exit system for an institution such as De La Salle University. The group aims to create an integrated magnetic card network system in which the magnetic card will serve as a school ID and a gate entry and exit identification card. A person can be monitored upon entry and exit via time-stamping, data recording, and a message system. To gain access to the system, one has to swipe his card at the card reader. Data from the card will be processed by a computer, with database containing certain information about the card user. It will then send an access code that will permit or deny entry of the person through an electronic locking mechanism. The computer will also record the time and place of entry or exit of the person for monitoring purposes, thus replacing the existing bundy-clock system.
