Abstract/Summary
The Davao Coop Way is a video documentary that talks about the cooperative movement in Davao City. The tripartite organization of the cooperative movement consists of the Cooperative Bank, Cooperative Hospital and Cooperative Federation which aims to meet the basic human needs of the Davao community. This documentary features Dr. Jose Tiongco, chairperson of the cooperative movement in Davao City, 3 beneficiaries' testimonies as well as the government's stand on this particular issue with the help of the Senate Head on Cooperatives, Senator Agapito Butz Aquino. It explains the relationships between the Cooperative and Self-Reliance, the Cooperative and Development and lastly, the Cooperative and Government. Through this documentary, the proponents aim to showcase the Davao cooperatives and hopefully inspire other people to set up their own cooperatives because in a country such as ours, cooperativism can be an effective tool for economic and social progress. The Davao Coop Way is a 15-minute documentary. It was shot in V8 format, edited and presented in U-matic format.
