Abstract/Summary

Cyberbullying has been a rising crime in today's society and in order to understand this phenomenon, certain factors have been studied in recent studies, such as anonymity and invisibility. Alongside that, the theory of online disinhibition has been rising in the modern era. Online disinhibition is known to be the reduction of social limitation and constraint that are usually existent in face to face interactions this usually occurs in interactions in the cyberspace. Online flaming is an effect caused by online disinhibition. This paper aims to identify the relationship of anonymity and invisibility to online flaming. With the data analysis in our study, it was found that online disinhibition does moderate the impact of anonymity to online flaming. Moreover, invisibility also has a significant factor to online flaming but has lesser association with online disinhibition. In moderation analysis. it is proven that online disinhibition is a significant moderator to anonymity influencing online flaming but not in invisibility.
