Abstract/Summary
Anghel : alaala ng katawan is a documentary-fiction film about an entertainer, a city, and the reality that they live with. The film narrates the story of Nina, an entertainer in the streets of Angeles City, and how her life is intertwined with the story of another woman facing similar struggles. The filmmakers merge the stories of the local people with the historical narrative of the city where the difference of reality and fiction can only be seen on the truth that lies in between: that Angeles City and the entertainer are both prostitutes, the former to foreign colonizers and the latter to customers. It can be a reference for researchers who wish to tackle prostitution in the Philippines and body politic of Angeles City and the entertainer.
