Abstract/Summary
This project aims to develop a control system for a house based on microcontrollers that would enable energy conservation and safety. This project has two components sensors and a microcontroller unit. The microcontroller unit, whose EEPROM will be programmed by the use of a personal computer, will act as the brain of the system. The various sensors such as light, temperature, and motion sensors will be interfaced to the microcontroller unit and will act as determining devices. The microcontroller unit will be able to determine the proper course of action to take to be able to control the various systems in a house for energy conservation and safety. Due to lack of resources financially, we will be implementing this project within the space of a room only. Its application may be used for the development of the so-called intelligent building .
