Abstract/Summary

Virtual Reality TOOLKIT (VR-TOOLKIT) provides the tools for creating a first person 3D perspective view of the Gokongwei Building. It combines the concept of virtual reality and graph theory. It is composed of the VR-ENGINE which is used to create the 2D maps of the system, and the VR-SIMULATOR which is used for viewing the 3D VR transformation of the 2D maps. The transformed world can be explored manually through the keyboard arrow keys or by using a guided tour. These tours use the graph representation of the floor plan map to perform the desired types of tour from a choice of four graph algorithm namely Djikstra, Floyd, Adjacency matrix, or Travelling Salesperson. VR-Toolkit allows users to edit or construct new structures from the existing data of the Gokongwei Building or to create a new design of a building up to 5 floors. A Tour function is also provided for orientation purposes. To give more information on the building, a simple description can be added into the database provided by the system.
