Abstract/Summary

This project is a study of advance computer architecture, specifically parallel processing architecture. The group, after long hours of research and countless experiments, has designed, developed and implemented a simple, crude, but working multi-processor system using an IBM Personal Computer XT as its main processor. With this system, the group implemented a few algorithms to measure the benefits that could be realized when using a multi-processor system. The results from the implemented algorithms were compared to the results of the same algorithms implemented on a serial computer. With the success of the group in meeting their objectives for the project, it is recommended that the college continue the study on advance computer architecture.
