Abstract/Summary
Biogas is produced from the digestion of the different organic matters due to the microbial activities in anaerobic fermentation. This thesis involves biogas production from food washings with septic waste as starter. The equipment used is a digester and a gas holder. The amount of gas produced was measured using the labelled gas holders and analyzed using the Gas Chromatograph. The TS, BOD and COD levels were constantly monitored to know the index of pollution as days of gas production progressed.Applying to a wider point of view, we could relate the importance of biogas not only in the Philippines but in the global crisis as well. Biogas would be a good source of fuel if its production would be developed. It would also help in pollution control since it uses organic materials like septic wastes and decaying matters as its raw materials.
