Abstract/Summary

This study aims to determine the factors that contribute to the development of the Filipino early adolescent's talent. After this, its influence to the formation and change in the self-image was examined. The method used to gather data was semi-structured interview, while the method of data analysis was through qualitative content analysis. With creation of themes, seven categories were derived wherein five pertain to one's talent and the remaining to one's self image. The results show that the talent of the early adolescent is first and foremost discovered wherein this will eventually develop. Consequently, this would bring about a change in the early adolescent and also on others. Finally, the view they have of themselves generated a comparison between how they view their selves before and after the development of their talent. The successes and achievements they attained also played a part in their self images.
