Abstract/Summary

The Panukat ng Paniniwala sa Sariling Kakayahan at Motibasyon na Maipakita ang Pinakakaya ng Isang Atletang Pilipino was developed to measure the levels of self-efficacy and goal orientation of Filipino athletes. Participants of this study were college varsity athletes with ages ranging from 16 years old to 24 years old. There were a total of 800 respondents for the 1st try-out and 2nd try-out. The items were generated from an interview with 9 national team athletes and 9 national team coaches as participants. They were asked questions that triggered self-efficacy and goal orientation situations. The researchers were able to come up with 54 situations that were made into illustrations. 40 items were left after the item review made by experts. The first try-out was administered to 400 college varsity athletes. Item-analysis was done and all items that scored lower than 30 were rejected. Reliability was determined by obtaining the item-total correlation scores and cronbach coefficient alpha. Cronbach coefficient alpha for the total test was .89. Validity was determined through factor analysis and contrast groups. Norming was developed through percentile ranking.
