Abstract/Summary

This report on the cracking process is a simplified description of the numerous and complicated processes and principles involved. Technical explanations on some considerations of the subject, however, maybe found. These are in the descriptions of the different processes, especially the catalytic systems. Although more or less simplified, it nevertheless is an ample study of the basic steps undertaken in the refining of petroleum and the production of gasoline, its most important product. The most important aspects of cracking have been carefully described. For more detailed information on the subject, from a technical aspect or otherwise, the reader is referred to the list of general references and bibliography at the end of this work.
