Abstract/Summary

Many different solutions have been given on the problem of finding the number of noncongruent triangles with integer sides and a given perimeter. Jordan, Walch and Wisner in their article entitled Triangles with Integer Sides , which appeared in the American Mathematical Monthly (Vol. 86) No. 8 (1979) posed the problem of determining the number of noncongruent quadrilaterals with integer sides and a given perimeter. Jepsen, Heppner and Wilms in their article entitled Quadrilaterals with Integer Sides , which appeared in the Mathematics Magazine (Vol. 73) o. 4 (2000) solved this problem in the special cases of trapezoids and cyclic quadrilaterals. This thesis gives an exposition of their solution.
