Abstract/Summary
This thesis is an exposition of the work of J.E. Iiams [6]. Setting practical and ideal constraints, it provides different techniques in counting trash hands significant in finding optimal game parameters. We also look at the work of Y.L. Cheung [2] to understand why poker is played with five cards. In addition, the optimal parameters are highly recommended to be played to add spice to the usual poker game. By optimal parameters, we mean playing poker with the desired number of ranks, suits and hands.
