Abstract/Summary

This paper studies how sexual permissiveness is observable through its different factor, and their manifestations in the differences and similarities between barangays (context areas) that are considered to be (a) rural, (b) urban, and (c) rural-urban. This paper utilized a Sikolohiyang Pilipino called Ginabayang talakayan and the data gathered were analyzed using content and comparative analysis. The results show 11 possible factors that could be used to observe sexual permissiveness. In terms of differences and similarities between the areas, literature holds true that (1) urbanization does interactively affect sexual permissiveness, (2) combinations of co-influencing factors vary from area to area, (3) urban adolescents who have had undergone sexual intercourse are less or not affected by factors that negatively influence sexual permissiveness.
