Abstract/Summary

This thesis is based on the article A Stirling Encounter with Harmonic Numbers by Arthur T. Benjamin, Gregory O. Preston and Jennifer J. Quinn that appeared in Mathematics Magazine, vol. 75, no. 2 dated April 2002. This thesis will deal with a detailed discussion of the proofs for the identities and theorems that are stated in the said article. More specifically, this study will talk about some theorems involving harmonic numbers and their relationship with Stirling numbers of the first kind.
