Abstract/Summary
The EU and the ASEAN are two independent international institutions that have done numerous and continuing efforts in building an effective relationship. This study shows how the involvement of the ASEAN in a relationship with the EU through the ASEM results in its economic declination as a region. Such assumption was verified through an evaluation of certain economic indicators acquired from conducting a documentary research. The theory of neoliberal institutionalism was used as a framework for the analysis of the data collated.
