Abstract/Summary

The outbreak of H5N1 virus or the Avian flu in the Asian continent alarmed the European Union. As a preemptive measure, a pre-pandemic plan was collectively devised from the European Commission and the national governments to eradicate all possible occurrence of pandemic within the Union. Consequently, cases of Avian flu threatens the member states and implementations of their plan is use. We will assess the responses of the Union and the national health institutions in their attempts to combat a potential pandemic.
