Abstract/Summary
The generation time of M. extorquens UPLB strain cultured in three media namely: Nutrient Agar, Trypticase Soy Agar and Ammonium Mineral Salt with methanol were determined. Results revealed that it will take about an hour for the given bacterial population to double in the three media tested. Determining the microbial count of PPFM Bacterial isolates corresponding to McFarland standards number 0.5 and 1 was also initiated. Results revealed that the counts fall within the range of 106 to 108 CFU/ml when suspensions of PPFM bacterial strains were adjusted to McFarland standards.
