Abstract/Summary

The framework for a system that shall inform railroad operators of possible obstructions that may interrupt train operation and/or even compromise the train passengers' lives and the train's immediate surroundings. This shall also reduce operation delay by anticipating accidents that may occur otherwise.

This system shall employ optoelectronics, particularly light radiation and detection. It shall mimic a tripping device used for traps - once a wire tapped to a trigger is distributed the trap shall be put into action. In this case, light shall virtually be the wire, and once tripped, shall inform the Central Processing Station and the immediate train/s moving in the direction of the obstructed tracks.
