Abstract/Summary
Commercially supplied waters and deep well waters within the vicinity of Makati City and San Andres Bukid were analyzed in terms of physico-chemical and microbiological parameters such as total solids, total hardness, pH and modified Most Probable Number (MPN) technique. The results for total solids ranged from 10.40 mg/L to 17.12 mg/L for MWSS supply and 29.80 mg/L to 87.80 mg/L for deep well the results for the total hardness ranged from 81.40 mg/L to 102 mg/L for MWSS supply and 50.80 mg/L to 554.80 mg/L for deep well the results for pH ranged from 6.04 to 6.22 for MWSS supply and 6.72 to 7.04 for deep well samples the results for temperature ranged from 26.2 centigrade to 27.4 centigrade for MWSS supply and 27.8 centigrade to 29 centigrade for deep well and the results for the modified most probable number (MPN) technique were all negative for both water sources. Results showed that both commercially supplied water and deep well water passed all the standards set by the Department of Health (DOH).
