Abstract/Summary
The study involves a simulation review of the traffic condition of the intersection at Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) junction with West Avenue. The following results are calculated during the simulation runs: served traffic streams as Origin-Destination-matrix, delay and journey times, journey speed, delay and journey times of public transport vehicles, delay at traffic lights, traveling speed, different trace files to document the function of the traffic-actuated control. On the basis of these parameters, the study proves that construction of a flyover at EDSA junction with West Avenue and North Avenue is justified by the improvement in operating performance of vehicles. The economic implications of the proposal investment however, remain to be verified.
