Abstract/Summary
A limnological survey of Taal Lake was done from June to October of 1993. Three sampling stations were established in Bancoro, San Nicolas, Batangas. The physical, chemical and biological parameters of the lake were analyzed. The results showed that temperature ranged from 28.42 centigrade to 31.62 centigrade, depth ranged from 0.98 m to 2.09 m, transparency ranged from 0.17 m to 0.98 m, pH readings ranged from 7.87 to 8.26 units, alkalinity ranged from 5.67 to 25.83 mg/I, hardness ranged from 218 to 226 mg/1, salinity ranged 1.0 to 1.7 ppt, conductivity ranged from 1683 to 1943 umhos/cm, dissolved oxygen concentration ranged from 5.51 to 9.42 mg/I, nitrate content ranged from 0 to 0.15 mg/I, orthophosphate content ranged from 0.08 to 0.20 mg/I and net primary productivity ranged from 0.45 to 0.80 mg/I. There were 32 species of phytoplankton collected and identified belonging to Divisions Cyanophyta, Chrysophyta and Chlorophyta.
