Abstract/Summary
A preliminary study on the taxonomy of marine gastropod shells found in Tanza and Naic, Cavite was conducted in the month of September of 1993. Thirty-two species of marine gastropod shells were gathered and classified up to the species level. Identified species fell under subclass Prosobranchia: orders Archaeogastropoda, Mesogastropoda, Neogastropoda suborders Ptenoglossa, Taenioglossa, Rachiglossa, Toxoglossa superfamilies Architectonicacea, Neritacea, Naticacea, Cerithiacea, Cypraeacea, Tonnacea, Buccinacea, Volutacea, Conacea families Architectonicidae, Neritidae, Naticidae, Turritellidae, Cerithiidae, Cypraeidae, Cymatiidae, Bursidae, Ficidae, Columbellidae, Buccinidae, Pyrenidae, Melongenidae, Costellaridae, Olividae, Mitridae, Muricidae, Conidae, Terebridae and 22 genera.
