Abstract/Summary

This creative writing thesis is a collection of fifteen (15) homoerotic lyric poems. Its title Iyag comes from the Filipino word that means an erection caused by lustful thoughts. The collection explores lust and amalgamates two of its definition: a strong sexual desire and a passionate desire for something. This poetic vision is achieved by underlining the pathos of the personae as they perform or ruminate over a sexual activity. The collection aims to destigmatize both lust and non-normative sexualities by drawing similarities between religiosity and profanity in some of the poems included in the collection.
