Abstract/Summary
Chemical investigation of the dichloromethane extracts of freeze-dried Garcinia mangostrana Linn. fruits led to the isolation of δ-tocotrienol, a-mangostin, and triacylglycerols, from the pulp and stigmasterol, triaclglycerols, and linoleic acid from the seeds. ID and 2D NMR spectroscopy were employed in the structure elucidation of â¥-tocotrienol, while the ID NMR data of the remaining isolates were compared with literature data for structure identification.
