Abstract/Summary

Federation of Free Workers (FFW) is an independent non-governmental organization founded by dedicated labor leaders in 1950 and is the first labor federation that draws its inspirations from the principles of Christianity (http://www.ffw.org/.). FFW is registered under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and is affiliated with International Labor Organization (ILO) with the mission to help workers from different sectors of society unite in a trade union to realize decent work through FFW Christian social democratic programs. The organization intends to motivate and inform workers that they are allowed to join and create unions in their respective workplace if they have none. FFW intends to inform their target audience about detailed and specific information about trade unions. However, existing messages and information conveyed by their main communicative materials such as their website, Facebook page, and brochure do not clearly convey the needed information by the workers. The communicative materials lacked information needed by the workers shown in the results through the interviews and audit of the materials done by the proponent. To address the organizational communication problem of FFW, a revamp of the website and brochure was done in order to inform the workers more about trade unions. The information focused and is more specific about trade unions in order for the target audience to understand what FFW is and what it can do for them. A revamp of the Facebook page was also done and this included, adding more information organization and information on trade union organizing.
